Just watched: Gardens of Stone by Francis Ford Coppola (1987) What an idea to cover the VietNam war from the point of view of the soldiers who stay in D.C. with the task of burrying the heroes lost overseas. As the famous burial protocol is repeated, it looses its dramatical strength. The same happens with the soldiers of Delta Company who just want to quickly get done with it. But when the soldier we got to know is buried, in the same way, the volley and the reveil on the buggle get all their meaning. At 6.3 on IMDb, this one seems underrated to me.
